New Line Cinema Unites “The Conjuring” and “It” Producers for Horror Masterpiece
“Salem’s Lot,” New Line Cinema’s film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1975 bestselling novel, is set to debut this October on Max. This Max Original film brings together the successful producing teams behind the “The Conjuring” universe and the “It” films. The movie is penned, directed, and executive produced by Gary Dauberman, known for his work in the horror genre.
The story follows author Ben Mears, played by Lewis Pullman, as he returns to his childhood home in Jerusalem’s Lot, seeking inspiration for his next book. However, he soon discovers that his hometown is under siege by a bloodthirsty vampire. The film features a strong cast, including Alfre Woodard as Dr. Cody, Makenzie Leigh as Susan Norton, Bill Camp as Matthew Burke, Spencer Treat Clark as Mike Ryerson, Pilou Asbæk as Straker, and John Benjamin Hickey as Father Callahan.
In addition to Dauberman’s creative vision, the film is produced by James Wan and Michael Clear for Atomic Monster, Roy Lee for Vertigo, and Mark Wolper. The film’s release on Max will coincide with the Halloween season, aiming to captivate audiences with its chilling adaptation of King’s classic novel.
