OkayMedia, the multimedia organization dedicated to uplifting the artistic and progressive voice of global Black culture, has announced Geo Hagan as their new Editor-in-Chief. In his role, Hagan will lead editorial teams for both OkayPlayer and OkayAfrica, reporting directly to the CEO, Isha Sesay. Hagan is based in NYC and frequently travels back and forth to Ghana, his native country. With 19 years of experience in diverse editorial teams and creating impactful content for various print and digital publications, Hagan is the perfect candidate for the job. His accomplishments also include working with global creative agencies and delivering winning campaigns for international brands such as Anheuser Busch, Lincoln, Red Bull, and Pepsi.
As Editor-in-Chief, Hagan will be responsible for creating multi-platform OkayMedia editorial vision for content serving audiences across the African continent, Europe, and the U.S. He will lead OkayPlayer’s year-long coverage of Hip Hop’s 50th year anniversary, including digital covers, video franchises, podcasts, merchandise, and live programming. Hagan will also spearhead the launch of OkayAfrica’s new fashion, beauty, and style vertical, aiming to capture the dynamic creativity that has made Africa one of the hottest destinations for fashion designers and style lovers everywhere.
